Title Study of Electromagnetic Wave Effects on the Human Head

Wireless body area network (WBAN) is based on wireless sensor network, consist of small, intelligent device attached on or implanted inside the body or spread around the body which are capable of establishing a wireless communication link. Nowadays, to achieve a better wireless communication link between each sensor, some researchers start to study the propagation characteristic of electromagnetic waves around the human body. Some of them focused on the propagation on the human head, since the human head is the most important human communication organs, such as the mouth, eyes and ears and also the main organ that control all the function of the human organs.

For understanding the effect of the human head in electromagnetic wave radio propagation channel, this work studies the specific absorption rate (SAR) and the temperature distribution pattern, which are the effects on the human head caused by the interaction between the electromagnetic wave propagation from an antenna device and the human head. The antenna is placed near the human head with various positions. The results show the behavior of the electromagnetic field on the head and show the various results of SAR values and distribution on the human head.
