An improved closed-form auto-correlation function (ACF) for narrowband vehicular-to-vehicular (V2V) channels with moving scatterers is proposed based on a geometrical two-ring model. The new solution is based on novel approximation methods with Jacobi-Anger expansion, thereby improving its accuracy while relaxing the local scattering assumption, which has been widely used for conventional V2V channel models. The analysis of the new ACF shows that near and far moving scatterers have different impacts on fading rapidity, demonstrating the importance of including both in V2V channel modeling.
